This flood study involves various phases under Risk MAP. The Phase 1 is currently underway, anticipating completion in late-2025 and involves creating county-wide approximate floodplains using rainfall runoff watershed models. The Phase 1 project focused on draft floodplains and discussions about hazard mitigation and future flood study scoping. A Phase 2 will be initiated in early-2026, which involves detailed study and generation of enhanced level (Zone AE) floodplains. These floodplains will be used to update regulatory products and assist community officials in flood risk reduction through mitigation action and informing community development.
