Developing updated hazard information for community planning and future regulatory update in southwest Colorado

A FEMA Risk MAP study within Archuleta county has been initiated. This project will promote the protection of life and property through flood risk analysis. The first step in this process is Discovery and Base Level Engineering (BLE). Discovery is the process of evaluating potential hazards that might impact a community, with a focus on flooding and associated mitigation opportunities. BLE will be a complete two dimensional (2D) study of the watersheds within portions of these counties. Draft results will inform where additional analyses may be needed and where updates to the Flood Insurance Rate Maps will proceed. Milestones, meeting information, data resources, study results, and tools will be added to the subsequent tabs as they are developed.
